Fundraising

Wadhurst Brass Band is a non-profit making organisation run by volunteers. Its aims are to maintain the tradition of brass band music in East Sussex, to provide a training band to interest the young and not so young in music and to develop new talent.

We finance ourselves with the proceeds of our performances, donations from the public and from band members themselves. This helps us to rent rehearsal facilities, to purchase and maintain instruments, music, uniforms and a long list of other things necessary for the running and existence of a large Brass Band.

We have now enrolled with easyfundraising, a website that helps all sorts of organisations like ours raise well-needed funds. The idea is that you to shop with your favourite online stores and at no extra cost to you, raise funds for the Band. You still shop directly with each retailer as you would normally, but by logging onto their site via the easyfundraising page first. Follow this link to the Band’s easy-fundraising page, register that you would like to support the Band. Then from their list of retailers find those you would like to shop with, buy your goods and, for each purchase you make, you will generate a cash-back donation to the Band. For example, WHSmith offer up to 5%, Fat Face 3%, ASDA Direct up to 3.5% and Amazon offer 2.5% cash back, and there are lots of retailers and deals to explore. You can shop with 2000+ brand name retailers, and there are always special offers to tempt you.

If you do shop on-line we would be grateful if you would support the Band and sign up to easyfundraising. Thank you.

Some time ago Tom and George Dickinson, played with the our training band, Tom on euphonium and George on cornet. Their Mum’s partner was a musician, poet and painter and painted a picture he entitled ‘Wadhurst Brass Band’. Along with several other paintings, he had ‘Wadhurst Brass Band’ made into a greetings card. Sadly he died in November 2011 but the family have kindly given the stock of cards to the band to help in our fundraising. The cards will be on sale at our Christmas Concert on 7th Decemeber but if you would like to buy one or more before then please get in touch, call 01892 783384. The are priced at £1 per card or 3 for £2.75.
