Listen to the band

Every Wednesday at 9:30pm on Radio 2, Frank Renton presents his half hour programme “Listen to the Band”. It is always a good show if you remember to tune in, but it is available on the listen again button for week (but unfortunately not as a podcast due to rights issues). Anyway, click away for the link through to the Listen to the Band homepage. We’ve just missed an edition with the Leyland Band’s winning performance at the Brass in Concert contest back in Novemeber, but there’s bound to be some good music ahead in 2012!

Training Band Join the WBB!
If you are learning to play an instrument and would like to join the band do come to visit us during Training Band rehearsals. These take place every Thursday night at 19:00h at the Uplands Community College in the centre of Wadhurst.
Whether you are 9 or 90 years old you are welcome to ‘pop by’. You’ll get the chance to listen to rehearsals, put questions to the director and members of the band or talk about your musical ambitions.
To join the band you need a little musical knowledge and a beginner’s level proficiency with your instrument. Nevertheless, if you are considering a start from scratch, what better place to see, hear and feel what instrument may suit you! The band’s members will be able to give advice about getting started, find teachers and adequate tuition books. There are no fees, charges and no commitments other than loving music.
