Thanks for all your support
By John, on December 8th, 2011
We were amazed with the support given to us at our Christmas Concert last Saturday, 3rd December. The Commemoration Hall was almost overflowing. It feels so good the play to a full house and we hope we got the festive season off to a great start. We were also pleased to say thankyou to Jean and Rosemary Lavender. Their shop has acted as the Band’s Concert Box Office for more years than anyone can remember. They were presentd with flowers, together with a photo and recording of the Band. Thanks again, Jean and Rosemary, for all your help.
The training band also did us proud and showed how much they had progressed over the year. They had a special treat for us, playing Pirates of the Caribbean to help promote Wadhurst Drama Club’s next panto production in January, complete with hats, eye patches, parrots and a cutlass!
We wish all our supporters a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you again in the new year.

Training Band Join the WBB!
If you are learning to play an instrument and would like to join the band do come to visit us during Training Band rehearsals. These take place every Thursday night at 19:00h at the Uplands Community College in the centre of Wadhurst.
Whether you are 9 or 90 years old you are welcome to ‘pop by’. You’ll get the chance to listen to rehearsals, put questions to the director and members of the band or talk about your musical ambitions.
To join the band you need a little musical knowledge and a beginner’s level proficiency with your instrument. Nevertheless, if you are considering a start from scratch, what better place to see, hear and feel what instrument may suit you! The band’s members will be able to give advice about getting started, find teachers and adequate tuition books. There are no fees, charges and no commitments other than loving music.
Pluck a little courage to knock on the door. But just in case you feel shy just to show up, you can contact Jenny Cooper by email, who is in charge of the training band.
